Construction Regulations Course
2 day course – NQF Level 3
South Africa has an active construction sector. The sector is also known for its high rate of construction related incidents. We need to work safer and the construction safety regulations act as a tool to accomplish this.
This course should form part of your construction training and will provide the delegate with the necessary information to:
- Understand the relationship between the Construction Regulations and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act);
- Understand the content of the Construction Safety Regulations and understanding the importance of legal compliance.
Target Group
This course is aimed at all delegates who have had no or limited previous knowledge and experience in the legal aspects of the Construction Regulations.
Pre-Requisites
Working experience on a construction site or in a construction related environment.
Course Objectives
To equip the learner with the necessary knowledge and skill to understand and interpret the Construction Regulations effectively to ensure legal compliance on their respective sites and operations.
Course Outcomes
At the end of this course with the use of the Construction Regulations course material, you will be able to:
- Communicate using the terminology defined in the regulations
- Understand the requirements for the client to provide a Health and Safety specification
- Make the necessary legal appointments for the construction work
- Look at Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment methodology
- Discuss a Health and Safety plan
- Discuss a Health and Safety file
Learning Material
Delegates will use the Construction Regulations as well as the Construction Regulations course manual.
Language
This course is presented in the English language.
Course Requirements
It is advisable and highly recommended to have prior knowledge and skill in terms of Health & Safety within an organizational structure before enrolling on this course.
It is always much more effective if we use your own company documentation during training. It is suggested that you bring your relevant construction information (SHE File; SHE Plan; Appointments, etc.) and any other related documentation to this training session.
Certification & Assignment
You will be issued with a Certificate of Competence on completion of this course.
