ISO14001 Lead Auditor Course

5 days – NQF Level 5

With increasing globalisation and competitiveness, it is more important than ever for organisations to use competent, certified auditors. The role of an environmental management system will increasingly be required for organisational sustainability and growth. Target Group

  • ISO14001 Implementers wanting to become auditors
  • Other ISO & OHSAS implementers of the management systems
  • Auditors-in-training and SHEQ Management
  • Auditors without a formal auditors qualification

The following pre-requisites are compulsory

  • 3 Day ISO 14001 Implementation Course
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience is required
  • A basic understanding of the relevant ISO series of standards

Course Objectives

To equip candidates with guideline knowledge and skill towards becoming an ISO14001: 2008 Lead auditor.

Course Outcomes

At the end of this course the candidate will be able to:

  • Prepare for, report on and carry out the follow up on Environmental Audits
  • Have achieved the means to assess and improve his/her ISO management system
  • Describe the purpose of an ISO14001 management system
  • Explain the scope and other criteria for ISO14001 audits
  • Interpret ISO14001 requirements
  • Identify and assess Environmental Aspects and Impacts
  • Plan and conduct Audits against ISO14001 requirements in compliance with ISO 19011
  • Prepare Audit reports with valid and factual non-conformities that add value according to international audit report writing
  • Conduct follow up Audits that include evaluating the effectiveness of corrective/preventive action

Learning Material

Candidates will use the ISO9011 and ISO14001 standards.

Course Requirements

It is a recommendation to bring a laptop with to the course.

IT IS COMPULSORY to bring PPE for use during the practical on-site session on the Thursday.

The minimum PPE required include: safety shoes, hard hat, hearing protection and safety goggles.

Certification & Assignment

On completion of this course which includes a post-course assignment, the successful candidate will be issued with a Certificate of Competence.
